Brittlebush (Encelia)

Brittlebush,known for its blue-green leaves year around and yellow flowrs in Spring

The bold yellow flowers of brittlebush are among the first to appear in spring and among the last to fade under the heat of summer. During the rest of the year, these plants contribute to desert color with their blue-green foliage. Look for them along roadsides and in the mountains west of the desert. A member of the Sunflower Family.
