Engelmann's Prickly-pear, Opuntia engelmannii var. engelmannii
The existance of Opuntia engelmannii var. engelmannii in San Diego County has not been verified but it may occur in the San Felipe Valley. The above photograph is from the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park trail from Table Mountain to Horse Canyon in Riverside County.
