Mohave Prickly-pear, Opuntia polyacantha var. erinacea
This cactus is considered rare in San Diego County, found only on the lower slopes of the Santa Rosa plateau. The above photograph is from the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park trail from Table Mountain to Horse Canyon in Riverside County.
