Mountain Springs Bush Lupine, Lupinus excubitus var. medius

The Mountain Springs Bush Lupine is a shrub of pinyon-juniper woodlands and the sandy slopes above the desert. It has a pleasant fragrance. The Bureau of Land Management considers it a sensitive species. The California Native Plant Society lists it as rare, threatened, or endangered in California and elsewhere.
