The Evening Primrose Family, which include such well-known plant names as Clarkia and Fuchsia, is found mostly outside of the desert.

Evening Primrose Family members commonly seen in Anza-Borrego include False-Mustard (Camissonia californica), Heart-shaped Primrose (C. cardiophylla), Mojave Sun Cup (C. chamaeneriodes), Brown-Eyed Evening Primrose, Peirson's Evening-Primrose (C. claviformis ssp. peirsonii), Dune Evening-Primrose (Oenothera deltoides ssp. deltoides), and Camissonia pallida ssp. pallida.
