Borrego Badlands in the Golden Light of the Morning Sun
It's the scenery. The Borrego Badlands cause motorists on County Road S-22 to slow down and take a look. Even the locals enjoy driving (in 4-wheel drive vehicles) to Font's Point or Vista del Malpais to watch the evening shadows fill the area.
Places like Cannonball Wash, Seventeen Palms, and Short Wash attract hikers, but mostly this is 4-wheel drive country. You don't drive through the badlands. You drive around them on routes like Palo Verde Wash, Arroyo Salado Wash, and Inspiration Wash.
