Borrego Rock and Gem Club
Minutes for meeting held on Saturday, February 24th, 2007
Location of meeting: Indio Date Festival
1. Group met at the Indio Date Festival to partake of the Imperial Gem and
Mineral show. The show included a number of jewelry and bead vendors. The
display area was filled with many beautiful mineral specimens that members
of the Imperial club had collected or acquired over time.
2. Treasurer’s report: $200 expenditure for insurance was made. Current balance is slightly over $250.
3. The field trip for March will be on Saturday the 10th. We will meet at North Shore State Park at 10 AM. Bring lunch, water and a chair. Directions and additional details will follow as the date approaches.
4. Remaining club meetings for this year are as follows:
- March 31st (10 AM at the nature center)
- April 28th (10 AM at the nature center)
- May 19th - The May meeting will be combined with the McCain Valley field trip instead of occurring at the nature center.
- October 20th (10 AM at the nature center)
- December 8th (2008 elections and trip planning. 10 AM at the nature center)
5. For those who are interested, the Palomar Gem and Mineral Club will have their annual gem show March 10-11th. The show is located at the National Guard Armory in Escondido, which is located at 304 Park Avenue. Hours are 10-5 on Saturday and 10-4 on Sunday. Map below.
