Borrego Rock and Gem Club
Minutes for meeting held on Saturday, October 20, 2007
Location of meeting: Borrego Desert Nature Center
1. Jim Havens led a discussion about Azurite and Malachite. Several samples previously collected from the Copper World Mine (near Baker, California) were shared with the group.
2. BRAG has a space on the bookshelf in the ABDNHA back room. Books on the shelf are for the use of all club members – please return them to the shelf after use.
3. We are still searching for reasonably priced (or free…) lapidary equipment. Please let the club know if you hear of anything.
4. November field trip: Saturday 11/10 – Wonderstone Quarry. Details to follow via email.
5. Elections will be held at the December meeting. Volunteers for “officer duty” are most welcome.
6. REMINDER: Membership renewals are due by January – the fee is still a remarkably low $10. Please mail them to Cindy at the following address:

7. The next meeting is Saturday, December 8th, 10 AM at the Borrego Desert Nature Center in Borrego Springs.- please make every effort to attend. This is the most important meeting of the year – election of officers and determination of field trip and meeting schedule for 2008 are on the agenda.
8. We really need your suggestions and ideas for activities. And of course,
volunteers for “officer duty” are most welcome.
