Minutes for meeting held on Saturday, December 8, 2007
Location of meeting: Borrego Desert Nature Center
1. Election of 2008 officers:
a. President – Jim Havens
b. Secretary – Linda King
c. Treasurer – Cindy MacLeish
2. Field trip schedule for 2008 is as follows:
a. January 12th: Kyanite Mine
b. February 9th: Blue Lady Mine
c. March 8th: Garnet Wash
d. April 12th: Pebble Terrace
e. October 11th: McCain Valley
f. November 8th: Yuha Desert – oyster beds
Notice of field trip start times and meeting locations will be distributed via email mid-week prior to each trip.
3. Club meetings will take place on the following dates – unless otherwise stated below, meetings begin at 10 a.m. at the Borrego Desert Nature Center.

c. March 29th
d. April 26th
e. October 15th
f. December 13th (2009 elections and trip planning)
4. There will be no meetings or field trips in May, June, July, August and September. The first meeting in the fall will take place on October 20th.
Post meeting – we were successful in purchasing a cutting machine for making cabachons, etc. Jim will give us lessons on its use at an upcoming meeting.

Desert Gardens Gem & Mineral Show – January 1 – February 1.
Tyson Wells Rock & Gem Show – January 4-11.
Tucson Gem and Mineral Show: February 2-16.
Next meeting is Saturday, January 26th at 10 a.m. at the Borrego Desert Nature Center.
